The freedom of saving water. Testimonials from the road.

RV is short for "recreational vehicle". An RV is a type of vehicle that is designed for people to live and travel in for extended periods of time. The lifestyle of living in a RV has exploded the last couple of years as a new way of living away from the hamster wheel.

A quick Instagram search under the hashtag RVlifestyle revels millions of posts with beautiful sceneries, landscapes, beaches and roads in sunset. Not to mention the rebuilds and upgrades of vans and busses that has created a whole new business segment. Creative solutions to fit an apartment into a smal vehicle. Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room and office. Packed like Mickey, Donald and Goofys trailer in the Disney short from 1938.

Water conservation is a critical issue for RVs as they are designed for travel and often have limited water storage capacity. In addition, many RV parks and campsites have limited water supplies, which makes it imperative for RV enthusiasts to conserve water.

Julien Satge from French RV specialist Mon Fourgon Shop explains the crucial choices RV owners need to adress on water consumption.

- We are looking for lightweight vehicles to reduce consumption, so we need to have the smallest water tank possible for   the time you want to be in autonomy. It means that if you find a solution to reduce consumption, you increase your autonomy. Decreasing the number of times you need to refill the tank during your holiday. Using a nozzle on the tap in the kitchen, will help a lot in reducing consumption while washing dishes, preparing meals etc. The shower handle will also decrease the consumption of water per shower, which means either longer showers or less water by shower. A crucial points is about hot water, in a van heating water means a consumption in energy (gas, gasoil or electricity) to heat a boiler. If you use Altered:Nozzle and Shower Handle, you'll have hot water a lot longer when taking a shower or washing dishes. And that is really the greatest issue in a van.

Scrolling through her feed it’s hard not to dream away and longing for a new way of living. Boondocking – off the grid and into the great wide open.
– The Altered:Nozzle have been a game changer for me in my RV. As someone who boondocks a lot, I am constantly trying to find ways to conserve my water usage and make my tank last as long as I can. The amount of water I save while washing dishes and washing my hands is truly noticeable. I cannot recommend these enough. I’ve been able to make 37 gallons of water last me for 4 weeks!
